We are a modern & contemporary prints art gallery in our 21st year in business. We specialize in buying and selling works on paper by modern masters & contemporary artists. We are also a custom frame shop performing quality conservation custom picture framing to enhance & preserve your artwork. Established in 1989 and located in the heart of Georgetown, Washington D.C., we are a full service art gallery and custom picture framing shop. Our services include museum-quality in-house custom picture framing, professional art installation, art restoration and conservation advice. At Georgetown Frame Shoppe, we handle all works of art with the utmost care and respect.
Georgetown Frame Shoppe is also a well-established buyer and seller of works on paper by well known modern and contemporary artists. We specialize in original works by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Henri Matisse, Joan Miro, Marc Chagall and Roy Lichtenstein. 	Peter Bortz Gallery Owner peter@georgetownframeshoppe.com Peter Bortz opened Georgetown Frame Shoppe in 1989. Peter has always had a great appreciation for and interest in art. After receiving a BA in economics at the University of Maryland 1986, he strove to combine his interest in art with his business skills. Since 1989, the company has evolved to not only encompass the wacky and fun world of rare vintage animation art and custom picture framing, but to house a miraculous body of modern and contemporary prints from around the world. As gallery owner, Peter Bortz is involved in the daily operation of the gallery to ensure its high level of customer service. He also travels extensively and meets with the most well known, reputable art dealers and auction house personnel. Peter is committed to sourcing artwork at a good value so he can offer it to you, our clients, at the very best price. Peter's goal is to have a trustworthy, reliable, and exciting gallery. Georgetown Frame Shoppe is always a work in progress.

	Darcy Buckley Web Master & Gallery Manager darcy@georgetownframeshoppe.com Darcy Buckley has been with Georgetown Frame Shoppe since the fall of 2007. She brings her enthusiasm for art and design, as well as her savvy business stylings and computer skills to the Gallery. A native Washingtonian, Darcy received her BA from Georgetown University with majors in Studio Art and English. Darcy has a wide array of responsibilities at the Shoppe. For example, in addition to updating and upgrading the web site, Darcy regularly provides off-site art delivery, consultation and installation services. She is also the head of marketing for Georgetown Frame Shoppe.

	Lorraine Hegi Master Framer & Manager lorraine@georgetownframeshoppe.com Lorraine has over 25 years of experience in the custom framing industry. She is a fantastic designer, a skilled and conscientious framer, and a lot of fun to be around. Lorraine, who grew up working in her family's silk and floral business in Norwalk, CT, brings a wealth of knowledge and an extensive array of talents and skills to the Gallery.

	Judith Barrett Assistant Manager judith@georgetownframeshoppe.com Judith is Georgetown Frame Shoppe's newest addition and hails from Colorado Springs, CO. She received a B.A. in art and English from Grinnell College before going on to train with Christie's Education in London. She was awarded a Master's degree in art history and connoisseurship from the University of Glasgow in 2009. Judith offers a love of art, a commitment to customer service, and a big smile to everyone at the gallery.

	Nicholas Bortz Master Framer nicholas@georgetownframeshoppe.com Nicholas Bortz has been working with the Georgetown Frame Shoppe since 2007. He is a talented framer, as well as a picture hanging and art installation specialist. Nicholas is a native Washingtonian and a graduate of Wilson High School. In addition to working at the Shoppe, he is currently taking classes in art and design at Montgomery College in Maryland.
