This exquisite lithograph, Saint Jean Cap-Ferrat, was engraved by Charles Sorlier in 1952 under Marc Chagall's direct supervision. Original Hand Signed Pablo Picasso Linocut

This original linocut, entitled Exhibition in Vallauris, was created by Pablo Picasso in 1964. This original Picasso linocut is hand signed in crayon in the bottom right hand corner and is numbered 127 out of 168. It measures 21" x 25" unframed and 38" x 44" framed.Picasso began making linocuts while working in the south of France on the famous Vallauris Chapel at a time recalled by many as the 20th century renaissance of art during the post-war years. Originally he intended to employ the technique for simply the creation of posters for exhibitions in Vallauris, where he lived for a decade, but became inspired to develop his interest further. During the 1950's, Picasso worked closely with printer Hidalgo Arnera creating hundreds of prints. SOLD

Original Henri Matisse Lithographs

Pictured here is the original Henri Matisse lithograph L'Image from his Poesies Antillaises Portfolio. The portfolio was created by Matisse in 1945-6. However, the lithographs were not printed at that time. The portfolio was finally published by Mourlot in 1972, almost 20 years after Matisse's death, at the urging of his heirs. This original lithograph is from an edition of 250. It measures 15" x 11" unframed and 27" x 23" framed. Matisse made these lithographs in homage of his very good friend, poet John-Antoine Nau. The two men became good friends after learning they shared a passion for the Island of Martinique, and it's female inhabitants. Nau's poetry and Matisse's illustrations draw inspiration from the beauty of the french island in the Caribbean Sea. The asking price for L'Image is $2,400 framed.
