Since these delicate, handmade Japanese portraits are three dimensional, we framed them in black, wooden shadow boxes. This shadow box molding has both depth and elegance. The portraits are framed individually on golden silk mats in matching frames of the same size, so they can be hung together or apart.

This original etching by Pierre-August Renoir, Etude Pour une Baigneuse from 1918, is framed with a dove grey silk mat and a finished corner 22kt gold frame with gesso details and a matching fillet. This simple, modern frame with darted corners suits the elegant, unadorned nature of the etching and it's subject.
